Abstract
India has set the ambitious goal of elimination of tuberculosis (TB) by 2025. The current microbiological approach of earlier diagnosis and treatment through success in reducing morbidity and mortality, alone is not sufficient to meet the targets set for TB elimination. It is time to focus on the comorbidities and social determinants which play a major role in the causation of the disease. A roadmap for TB elimination including addressing these social determinants is discussed in this article.
