Abstract

The aim of this paper is to give more insight into the sampling and reconstruction processes that are present in digitally controlled systems. For this purpose, the fractional-order hold device is represented with a special reference to the device realization. The paper is also intended to provide some elementary guiding principles for proper setting the adjustable gain of the fractional-order hold device for the purpose of signal reconstruction in digital control systems. To demonstrate the features of the considered hold algorithm using Matlab $$^{\circledR }$$ Simulink software, both the time and frequency domain characteristics of the proposed implementation of the hold device are analyzed.
