Journal of the American Society for Naval EngineersVolume 66, Issue 4 p. 939-945 A REVIEW OF UNDERGROUND STORAGE AND ITS STRATEGIC APPLICATIONS TO NAVAL INSTALLATIONS LT. CARROLL V. KROEGER, LT. CARROLL V. KROEGER USNR The author started in the gas business in July, 1946, after graduation from the NROTC Unit, the Rice Institute, Houston, Texas. He worked for Conversions & Surveys Inc. as a field adjuster, and later advanced to crew foreman and complaint specialist. He worked on conversion programs for Central Illinois Gas and Electric Company, The Nashville Gas Company, and Washington Gas Light Company. In March, 1949, he graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Mathematics & Physics. He then joined Blackstone Valley Gas and Electric Company, Pawtucket, R. I., as a junior engineer. In December, 1950, he was recalled to active duty by the U. S. Navy and served as Engineering Officer and Administrative Assistant aboard the USS Capricornus AKA-57 during the Korean Conflict. In August, 1952, he was released from active duty with the rank of Lieutenant, and joined Central Indiana Gas Company, where he presently holds the position of engineer. He holds a diploma in “Natural Gas Engineering” from Pennsylvania State College Extension, and has completed the course in “American Gas Practice” conducted by Jerome J. Morgan. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Naval Engineers, the American Gas Association, the Indiana Engineering Council, and is a member of the Indiana Committee for Study of the Underground Storage of Petroleum and its products.Search for more papers by this author LT.
