A response to Frynas

Abstract

Before publishing the article 'Political instability and business: focus on Shell in Nigeria', the Editor of Third World Quarterly kindly invited our comments. We were grateful that he did so, since the author appears to have compiled his article without having discussed with anyone from Shell' the facts supporting his arguments-still less the arguments themselves. We offered, through the Editor, to meet the author to discuss his article. We understand that he declined this offer. The Editor therefore gave us this opportunity to comment on the article, and we appreciate his courtesy.
