Abstract

Interprofessionality is an immense challenge to be achieved in the health area. Health residencies propose a reorientation of the care model through professional training, as they demand learning in, through and for work; and are seen as important initiatives for the advancement of interprofessional education in Brazil. The objective of this text is to discuss interprofessionality in health education based on experiences lived by the authors in the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Family and Community Health in the city of João Pessoa in 2021. a Basic Health Unit of that municipality, being reported and analyzed the moments in which multiprofessionality occurs more frequently and, therefore, allows a collaborative and integrated action between more than one health profession. Despite the potential of these experiences and the success in other aspects, it is noteworthy that health education is still very far from the pedagogical proposal of multidisciplinary residencies, especially with regard to interprofessionality.
