Abstract

In the context of the new media era, mobile short video plays a huge positive role in the construction of international communication discourse and national image with its dialogue-oriented, humanistic, life-oriented and multi-modal image narrative characteristics. This paper takes the multimodal features of mobile short video as the research object and li Ziqi series of short videos as the research corpus. Based on the self-built multi-modal corpus, using visual grammar theory, this paper discusses how mobile short video makes various symbols and modes cooperate to construct multi-modal discourse and achieve its communicative purpose. Through the research, we find that the auditory modes of Li Ziqi series short videos are mainly composed of music and sound symbols, and there are few language symbols, which have no function of constructing meaning. The visual modes of Liziqi series of short videos are composed of video, subtitles, works logo and other symbols. The reappearance is reflected in the scenes of Li Ziqi working hard or eating food, as well as the display of natural landscape, farm yard and the fruits of her labor. The interactive significance reflects that the image of Li Ziqi in the picture is mostly “offer” images, which appear alternately in the long shot, middle shot, close shot and close-up shot. She uses the side flat shot or the vantage shot to shoot in order to build an equal and friendly harmonious relationship. The meaning of composition is reflected in the video designer's use of lens language to put the content to be represented in an important and significant position of new information, so that the design intention can be effectively conveyed.
