Abstract

This is a screening model research, and the objective of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between study skills and GPA of university students.Population of the study is Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, while the sample group is composed of the students studying at classroom management and physical education and sports departments.The data were obtained from written sources and through survey method. After the understandability, content validity and reliability of the questionnaire were assured, it was applied to the sample group randomly through one to one interviews. A total of 251 students participated in the study. Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.96. According to the researchers, this is a very high Co-efficient .After the collected data had been coded in suitable statistical computing environment, as statistical operations, such procedures as the frequency (f), percentage (%), cross-table (Croostab) and X2 (Chi-square) were applied. Comments were made upon by accepting0.05 confidence interval. As a result of statistical evaluation procedures, student with higher GPA are better than those who have lower. There is also a significant difference in 0,05 significance level.As a result, we can say that study skills of students with higher GPA are also higher and there is a linear parallelism between study skills and GPA.
