Abstract

This paper aims to identify and analyze Brazilian production on the observation and psychoanalytic intervention of the parent-infant relationship in the last 20 years in Brazil through published articles in national journals. Based on the “State of the Art” method, a bibliographic survey was carried out, which allowed us to search into two databases “Psychology Electronic Journal Portal (PePSIC) and “Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) for articles related to this proposed topic. Throughout this research, eight articles were found about the birth and hospitalization of babies with organic pathology, which were divided into two themes "Maternal function and primary maternal concern" and "Illness and hospitalization of the newborn". Based on the analysis of these studies, we can conclude that these productions have been an important tool to understand the role of psychologists in this context and the difficulties encountered by parents in relation to the birth and hospitalization of their child with the pathology.
