Abstract

Abstract Treatment of Baylis–Hillman adducts with Et3SiH/I2 in CHCl3 at room temperature afforded the (Z)- and (E)-allyl iodides in stereoselective manner. The products are formed in excellent yields within 5 min. The method has successfully been utilized for synthesis of natural bioactive fatty acid amide, semiplenamide D.
