Abstract

In this issue of Chem Catalysis , Musacchio and coworkers achieve a formal hydride abstraction of strong C sp 3 –H bonds through sequential photoinduced hydrogen atom transfer and radical-polar crossover events. The potential of this strategy is initially showcased via nucleophilic fluorination, but preliminary studies suggest wide nucleophile generality.
