Abstract
1. A quantitative analysis of the cytotoxic effects produced by the following agents has been attempted using a modification of theVicia faba root-tip test: (a) Proflavine. (b) A freshly prepared sample of acetylethyleneimine (AEI), a rnonofunctional ethyleneimine possessing very limited tumour-inhibitory activity. (c) A freshly prepared (new) and an 18 month (old) sample of triethylene melamine (IBM), a polyfunctional ethyleneimine possessing marked tumour-inhibitory activity when freshly prepared.
