Abstract

The hybrid direct current transmission system combines the advantage of the traditional direct current transmission system and the flexible direct current transmission system. At present, there are relatively few researches on the protection of hybrid DC transmission system, which is also the key to maintaining the stable and safe operation of the transmission system. This paper describes the concept of information fingerprints, introduces the concept of fault current information fingerprints, and proposes a protection scheme on hybrid DC transmission based on information fingerprint. The protection scheme processes the different fault currents to generate the corresponding fault current information fingerprints firstly. By matching the fault current information fingerprint with the fault current information fingerprint obtained by simulation in advance, the fault location can be realized, thereby achieving the purpose of protection. The simulation results show that the proposed protection can meet the reliability.
