Abstract

In the existing literature physical quantities are assigned their scalar or vector character in an arbitrary way; this frequently leads to inconsistencies in the corresponding equations. In this article it is proposed to introduce a type (or character) identification analysis which would be self-consistent, by being directly based on the original definitions of such quantities.
