Abstract
The analytical formulation for coupling dynamical equations having general linear constraints is a highly relevant structural problem which is often encountered in modal synthesis procedures. Computational difficulties arise in reducing the total number of unknowns in the dynamical equations to an independent set. Here a simple, general and powerful procedure is presented which can be easily introduced in existing finite element programs. This method will be implemented in ASKA, which has excellent substructuring techniques and is available in the European Space Agency.
