Abstract

A miniaturized multiband broadband quasi-self-complementary antenna (QSCA) is presented, which mainly consists of a third-step radiation patch on the right and a third-step wide slot on the left. With the help of an L-shaped metal ground patch, a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-like matching technique is used to improve the impedance matching of the antenna. To further compress the antenna, a U-shaped slot and a branch patch are loaded in the antenna, which makes the proposed antenna exhibit a broadband property with a compact size. The measured results show that the proposed antenna can cover 698–960 MHz (low band), 1427–1518 MHz, 1710–2690 MHz (middle band), and 3300–3800 MHz (high band) successfully. The compact size (100 mm × 25 mm) and simply printed geometry is suitable for wireless broadband devices.
