Abstract

• Using NaHCO 3 as foaming agen, an electrode with high porosity was prepared. • A two-stage temperature control method for NaHCO 3 -Ag/AgCl electrode is proposed. • The performances of NaHCO 3 -Ag/AgCl electrode were significantly improved. Using sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO 3 ) as foaming agent, an Ag/AgCl marine electric field electrode with high porosity was prepared. A two-stage temperature control method suitable for NaHCO 3 -Ag/AgCl electrode is proposed, that is, the sample is heated to 200 ℃ for 1 ∼ 2 h, then heated to 400 ℃, and then naturally cooled to room temperature. On the one hand, the two-stage temperature control method ensures the complete decomposition of sodium bicarbonate, on the other hand, it ensures that AgCl will not melt, and the electrode is formed and has a certain strength. The performance of NaHCO 3 -Ag/AgCl electrode prepared by this method is significantly improved.
