Abstract

A wide area information based power system out-of-step splitting multi-Agent control system is studied in this paper. It has distributed design structure, the Agents with different functions in different layers cooperate to dynamically detect out-of-step oscillation, locate out-of-step centers and search the optimal splitting section, which is not limited by power system structure and operation mode. For on-line determining the optimal out-of-step splitting section, an out-of-step center locating method is proposed firstly and the electrical components where the out-of-step centers locate are selected as the initial splitting section. Then the power balance in split islands is taken as the optimization goal and searching rules are formulated, the layer by layer searching scheme is adopted to obtain the finial splitting section to ensure the stable operation of each island after splitting. The searching scheme meets the requirements of the optimal splitting section on-line search in meshed power systems.
