Abstract
This work has the purpose of examining the life and academic production of the Cuban psychologist and educator Roberto Corral Ruso (1947–2024). Categories of analysis proposed by Vygotsky and Dafermos that focus on the production of knowledge from a historical and sociocultural perspective are used as a conceptual framework for the examination. From these categories we address the biography and training of Corral, the sociocultural context in which he developed his ideas and his work in psychology, the trends in philosophy and science that marked that development, what he defined as his objects of study and the productions that resulted from his work, and the network of interpersonal relationships and collaborations that it established. We end with a general conclusion about his legacy to Cuban and Ibero-American psychology.
