Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and safety of breast lesion excision system (BLES).Methods Following review board ethical permission and the consent of each patient,we aimed to perform a complete excision biopsy,with a margin,of small non-palpable breast lesions that the diameter less than 1.5 cm.36 patients with 62 small non-palpable breast lesions underwent a BLES biopsy.All lesions had pathobiology diagnosis.Intraoperative and postoperative pain score and complications were observed.Results Sixty-two lesions of 36 patients had a complete excision biopsy.Mean lesion size was 9.8 mm (2-13 mm).Fortysix lesions were diagnosed as breast fibroadenoma,two lesions as intraductal papilloma,twelve lesions as fibroadenosis,one lesion as benign lobulated tumor,one lesion as invasive ductal carcinoma.All patients could tolerate the pain of the operation.one case occurred postoperative hematoma,cured after conservative treatment,no complications such as skin burns.Conclusions The BLES biopsy is an efficacious technique at excising non-palpable breast lesions with a complete margin.
