Abstract
A public survey conducted in Hong Kong has revealed that renovation noise is the most annoying noise source affecting residences. The problem is attributed to the lack of a good culture in the application of quiet methods and the adoption of building management practices. This paper will present on a pilot scheme funded by the Environmental and Conservation Fund which is a 2-years education / promotion programme for enhancing the general public and relevant professions with the knowledge about the use and advantages of quiet tools and good management rules in domestic renovation work. The paper will also give an account on the methodology for evaluation of the pilot scheme.
