Abstract
A caddisfly pupa (Trichoptera: Hydroptilidae) was found attached near the distal end of a copepod (Copepoda: Lernaeidae), parasitizing a rock bass (Perciformes: Centrarchidae) in Lac Saint-Louis near Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Québec. Trichoptera as phoronts are uncommon. The silk produced by fifth instar larvae is proposed as a mechanism to explain the repeated occurrence of hydroptilids on other organisms. This is the first record of a trichopteran phoretic on a copepod.
