Abstract
1. A perfusion technique for the study of transport across the intact gill of rainbow trout is described.2. It was found that the outflux rate of 1.6 x 10-6 cm./sec. was greater than the influx rate of 5 x 10-8 cm./sec. for strontium, and that strontium would go out of a fish gill against a concentration gradient under these experimental conditions.
