Abstract

In the midst of a pandemic due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in 2020 and trying to prevent the spread of the virus, adaptations are needed in all areas, mainly in education. This goes through a moment of improvisation, in which face-to-face teaching becomes remote. Thus, with a focus on special education, the present study aims to identify the perspective of Libras Translators and Interpreters (LIT) in relation to the teaching and learning process of the deaf student through remote teaching developed in a period of pandemic. To this end, the research followed a qualitative approach. As a data collection instrument, a questionnaire with 11 discursive questions was used, which was prepared and sent via Google Forms to the LIT of the municipal and state network of a municipality in Goiás. Through the analysis of responses, it was observed that LIT pointed out difficulties in working with deaf students in face of remote education. It can be concluded with this work that despite these difficulties, the subjects believe they are doing a good job and thus preventing the barrier in the communication of the deaf students they attend.
