Abstract

We consider pedestrian evacuation models while smoke is spreading. A microscopic social force model is considered and combined with the advection- diffusion equation, which is applied to the smoke density. The model is used to present the pedestrians’ movements behavior. The persons try to move away from high smoke density areas. An Eikonal equation is coupled to the interacting particle system for the navigation field. The corresponding hydrodynamic and scalar models are derived from the microscopic model. These models are solved by particle methods. We investigate different numerical test cases and compare the results on the microscopic as well as on the hydrodynamic and scalar models.
