Abstract

The goal of this paper is to propose a family of dynamic output feedback compensators (whose state is subject to jumps at the impact times) that stabilize a given n degrees of freedom mechanical system, with linear continuous-time dynamics, subject to non-smooth impacts. An example is used in order to show how the available degrees of freedom can be used to satisfy additional important requirements, apart from asymptotic stability.
