Abstract

In this paper, we use the finite element analysis software ANSYS to built a three dimension solid model of the piston in natural gas engine and make the digital simulation of the piston’s temperature field. By the actual measurement of indicator diagram, we calculate working process in the cylinder and heat transfer boundary condition of the piston and simulate it’s temperature field. Compared with the actual measurement of temperature distribution, we find that the research results provide theoretical basis to improve heating conditions of the piston, and will be significant to computer-aided calculation of the piston simultaneously. Analysis results show that the simulated results consistent with the actual situation. So the FEM (finite-element method) can actually reflect the temperature distribution of piston.
