Abstract

Tetracycline antibiotic contamination as one of the major environmental issues continuously affects biological health. In this work, piezoelectric material of asymmetric center with ZIF67 wrapping Fe3O4 structure was synthesized, which piezoelectrically degraded for 100 mg/L tetracycline with a degradation rate of more than 95 % in 40 min. Experimental and theoretical analyses indicated that ZIF 67 adsorbed tetracycline, which can shorten the reaction distance, and more •O2− was generated by ZIF67 regulating the conduction band position of Fe3O4 the intermediate products during the piezoelectric reaction were investigated, which intuitively visualized the degradation pathway of tetracycline. This research provides a novel notion for the application of iron-based piezoelectric materials in wastewater treatment.
