Abstract

A novel time reversal (TR) imaging algorithm is proposed for imaging with a single antenna in multipath environments. Instead of suppressing multipath signals, the proposed algorithm makes full use of multipath signals as a virtual mirror multi-station. It first derives the maximum likelihood estimators of the distances between targets and the actual and virtual antennas from multipath signals of the single antenna. Based on these estimators, a virtual frequency-frequency multi-static data matrix is constructed to image multiple targets during the TR imaging. The validity and effectiveness of the algorithm is testified by simulation results in both noise environments and multitarget scenarios.
