Abstract

Time reversal (TR) imaging technique is a good candidate to detect and locate multiple targets in complex environment. The traditional TR imaging technique is to find the spatiotemporal focal point through retransmission of the time-reversed signals by TRM (time reversal mirror) to the interest region. Other methods are based on the so called TR operator (TRO), which include the Decomposition Operator of TR (DORT) and the TR MUltiple SIgnal Classification (TR-MUSIC) techniques. The performance of traditional TR imaging and TRO imaging methods was studied and compared through FDTD method in this letter. The results shows that the conventional TR imaging and DORT method have limited capability to separate closed located targets, while TR-MUSIC has super resolution capability.
