Abstract

Wireless Sensor networks are deployed in unattended areas for the purpose of remote monitoring in homogeneous and heterogeneous environment. Sensor nodes which comprising the network has limited power, memory and computational capacity. Hence they are vulnerable to fault or attacks, which leads to partition of the network. Hence detecting and repairing the partition is very important. In the proposed method we consider a partition detection system where the base station knows the position of the sensor nodes and the base station communicates with the nodes at regular intervals. The failure of the base station to communicate with a group of sensor nodes located together is the proof that some partition have occurred. Before the particular node is being failed, it should give the information to the base node or atlest to the neighbor nodes. Then the base station will initiate mobile nodes to the particular location and the failed nodes will be replaced by the mobile nodes, so that the connectivity of the Wireless sensor network is maintained.
