Abstract

In recent years, the rapid development of electrified railways has brought people the convenience of traveling. But at the same time, it has also caused huge energy consumption and power supply problems. In view of the hidden troubles in energy consumption and power supply in Western China, a novel method of powering the railway station in western region, based on microgrids composed of photovoltaic power generation units and battery energy storage units, is proposed. According to railway stations and power supply characteristics of microgrids, the scheme of powering to railway station equipment by microgrids is designed. Based on the state of charge, the energy management mode and control strategy of microgrids are designed. Finally, Matlab/Simulink software is used to verify the proposed energy management mode and control strategy of microgrids.
