Abstract

A novel optimization method is proposed for design of high compression ratio sheet beam electron gun. Since the traditional electron gun design requires more manual debugging, this optimization method combining fuzzy control theory and genetic algorithm greatly reduces the time cost to obtain the global optimal solution. With this method, a W-band sheet beam electron gun with beam compression ratio of 10:1 is optimized and about 70% of the time is saved compared to manual optimization.
