Abstract
The ordinary MIMO iterative detection, which combines MIMO layered detection with iterative decoding, is based on the assumption that the channel is quasi-static, and cannot work well in a time-varying MIMO system. The paper proposes a novel iterative detection method for time-varying MIMO channels. A short iterative code is adopted in the method, while the channel is viewed as being time-invariant during a code (we call it a packet), so the corresponding packet can be detected by the ordinary MIMO iterative method. Several previously detected packets are used as the training sequence to estimate the present MIMO channel, and therefore the time-varying MIMO channel can be traced. Simulation results show that the proposed MIMO iterative detection method suppresses the time-variation of the MIMO channel effectively and greatly outperforms the ordinary method.
