Abstract

Error estimation of the metering system of electric energy is an effective means to discover potential hazards of measurement devices of power energy, which consist of watt-hour meter, current transformer (CT), voltage transformer (VT), and secondary circuits. Metering errors from watt-hour meter and secondary circuits can be monitored online, but errors from CT and VT cannot be measured directly and vary with influencing factors of temperature, leakage current, and other factors. This paper proposes a continuous estimation method of ration and phase errors of CT and VT by using membership cloud (MC) and dynamic time warping (DTW). A new mixed semi-trapezoidal MC generator is constructed to account for the randomness and fuzziness of different factors to error variation. CT and VT errors can be estimated based on the similarity between time series of error and influencing factor quantized using a modified DTW algorithm. The measured errors of watt-hour meter and secondary circuits, and the estimated CT and VT errors, are combined to achieve the comprehensive error of the measurement system of electric energy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the on-site test data of the metering equipment of electric energy in a 110 kV substation.
