Abstract

A novel dual-polarized slot Yagi-Uda array antenna with a low profile and high gain has been presented. The multilayered topology combined with the slot structure has been applied to obtain a low antenna profile of 0.18λ in the end-fire direction. Two orthogonal microstrip feed lines are located above and below a cross-shaped driver slot respectively to achieve dual polarizations. A symmetrical feeding structure using a one-to-two divider is employed to realize high isolation between the two ports. The measured results show that the proposed antenna can cover the whole WiMAX band from 3.27GHz to 3.68GHz. Gains of the antenna are greater than 8.9dBi and the isolation is lower than −27dB across the whole operating band.
