Abstract
The study proposed an islanded MG voltage and frequency control based on novel fractional order control and an improved droop control scheme. The proposed control approach benefits from two enhancements: First, better transient response is achieved by switching from conventional average power measurement, which relies on employing a low-pass filter of the first order, to a real-time integration filter. Second, a new fractional-order proportional integral derivative filter (FOPIDN) controller improves distributed generation inverters voltage and current controller. A new sparrow search algorithm is used to tune the FOPIDN controller parameters. Matlab simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control outperforms the traditional proportional-integral controller in efficacy and resilience. The proposed controller was shown an excellent transient response for load variation and the induction motor loading condition.
