Abstract

Long persistent luminescent (LPL) materials are highly anti attention due to its energy conservation and environmental protection. Here, a novel blue LPL material LaMgAl11O19: Eu2+ (LMAO: Eu2+) have been synthesized successfully by high temperature solid state method, and its LPL properties was studied for the first time. The X-ray diffraction, refinement and crystal structure were used to characterize the phase composition of the synthesized samples. The LMAO: Eu2+ phosphor mainly exhibits blue center at 454 nm, which was mainly attributed to the 5 d-4f transition of Eu2+. The LPL properties were characterized by the LPL decay curves, LPL spectrum and the thermoluminescence (TL) curves. After removing the excitation sourc e, a blue LPL is produced approximately 9 min. Finally, the trap distribution and LPL mechanism are analyzed in detail through TL spectroscopy.
