Abstract

Design and implementation of a low loss Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) filter is presented in this work. The transducer insertion loss with respect to the various design parameters, particularly acoustic aperture length is investigated. Simultaneous improvement of quality coefficient, reflection loss and insertion loss (IL) are considered in our simulation. This method is very useful for IDT (inter digital transducer) design in specific and SAW filter design in general at different frequencies. To show the performance of our design, the parameters have been used in Three-IDT SAW filter structure based on impulse circuit model, by adding matching network, the filter has realized an S21(Insertion loss) of 6 dB and S11 (network reflection) suppression of more than 60dB at 2.4GHz.
