A novel 3D cadmium coordination complex [Cd(H 2L) · 1.5H 2O] n with strong photoluminescent property: (H 4L = N, N′-bis(4-pyridylcarboxyl)-2,6-pyridine dicarbohydrazide)

Abstract

A novel three-dimensional cadmium(II) coordination complex [Cd(H 2L) · 1.5H 2O] n with space group P6(2) was obtained by self-assembly between H 4L and cadmium(II). Each cadmium ion is seven coordinated by four nitrogen and three oxygen atoms from the H 2L 2−, forming a coordination geometry of distorted pentagonal bipyramid. This complex exhibits intense yellow emission at room temperature.
