Abstract

This paper pertains to the physics of phase transitions based on the concepts of prototype and ferroic phase. In a given substance, the prototype can be set so as to agree with the prototypic phase at a certain point Tp in the temperature range of the prototypic phase. Since the soft mode is referred to the prototype, it should be influenced by the choice of p. A brief investigation of this influence is carried out.
