Abstract
We prove a theorem about the class group of composita of fields whose ramification indices over a common number field of class number one are relatively prime. This is applied to derive a short exact sequence that describes the class group of imaginary bi-quadratic fields made up of two quadratic fields of relatively prime discriminants.
