Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT of a direct statistical method of modelling gas flows is described; the method is based on a synthesis of the ideas of splitting and the construction of a strict Markov model for the collision processes in an ideal gas; it is characterized by moderate demands on the computer resources, so that multi-dimensional problems of flow past bodies and flight vehicles of rarefied gas can be solved on medium-capacity computers.
