Abstract

A method of modulating the light beams of the G.E. recording spectrophotometer is described, which does not involve the use of a polarizing prism, thus obviating de-cementing faults in the prism due to heating during prolonged operational periods. The performance of the modified instrument and its use in measurements of dichroism of dyed films are discussed.
