Abstract

A nonlocal damage field theory is proposed and a response model of nonlocal elastic damage is given. A simulating experiment using aluminum alloy plates with arrays of holes shows that the load bearing capacity of a plate varies with angle γ between array and loading direction. The characteristics and attenuation lengths appreciably affect the constitutive equations.
