Abstract
<p>Welcome to 2009! Our first issue of <cite>Psychiatric Annals</cite> for the new year features some of joys of aging &ndash; design flaws that show up as we age, including depression and cardiovascular disease, as well as Parkinson’s disease, psychosis in Alzheimer’s disease, and late-onset alcohol dependence. Each article makes useful points about the onset and management of these common conditions.</p>
