Abstract
Aiming at the slow fault removal speed of traditional Z-source DC circuit breakers, this brief proposes a new Z-source DC circuit breaker topology to improve the speed of DC fault removal. Firstly, this brief introduces the working principle of the new topology and further derives its voltage transfer function when the SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier) is turned off. Secondly, the capacitance parameter and inductance parameter in the new topology network are designed. Finally, four Z-source circuit breaker topologies were built using the MATLAB/Simulink software and PLECS/RTbox semi-physical experiment platform, and the advantages of the new topologies are compared and emphasized.
