Abstract

Abstract A new three-dimensional coordination polymer with the formula, [Cd4(OH)2(na)6]n (1) (na = nicotinate), has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized, which can be considered as a uninodal six-connected pcu topology based on butterfly-like [Cd4(μ3-OH)2] SBUs. The polymer exhibits high thermal stability until 355 °C confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis and has potential applications as an optical material.
