Abstract
A beam transport system has been constructed for the production and use of secondary beams of radioactive nuclides for astrophysical nuclear reaction studies. This system is based on six magnetic quadrupole lenses. Beams of 7Be and 13N have been produced in the energy range 15–30 MeV. The cross section of the 2H(7Be, 8B)n reaction is measured to be 58±11 mb at E7Be=16.9 MeV.
