Abstract
A new oribatid mite belonging to the family Banksinomidae is described from litter of a birch forest in Mt. Bulgan, Central Mongolia. The new species, Montizetes rarisetosus, differs from the related species in having nine pairs of notogastral setae, relatively short and wide costulae, more posteriorly situated notogastral seta ta and a larger body size.
