Abstract

Based on the collection from Karbala, southern Iraq, seven species from six genera of the family Pteromalidae were identified. All of the genera are the first records of the fauna of Iraq. Norbanus tabatabaeii Lotfalizadeh & Alsendi sp. nov. was described from Iraq and compared with closely allied species of the genus in the Palaearctic region. Six species were recorded for the first time in Iraq: Catolaccus crassiceps (Masi), Goidanichium atrum Bouček, Merisus splendidus Walker, Notanisus vanharteni Gibson, N. versicolor Walker, and Systasis encyrtoides Walker. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:689800C9-5660-48BB-9444-791F543B4260
